Recently Jaime and Tami were key-note speakers at the “Serve the City” Conference in Orlando, Florida. During their message a challenge was issued to the participants “WHAT IF?”. “What If” the church actually lived out the commission of Jesus … “What If” we took Matthew 24 and Isaiah 58 as our plumb line in living out the love of God to the world around us. On March 4th, NOMORE will be partnering with All Pro Dad and North Pointe Church in Lutz, FL to present The NOMORE ORPHANS Experience, so leading up to it we are going to highlight stories from people who have seen the need and have chosen to say ‘Yes’ to God to step into care.
This week we begin with a two-part article written by Christy Raulerson, “A life that was changed.”
I love that old Christian hit “Thank you” by Ray Boltz. The lyrics say “Thank you for giving to the Lord. I am a life that was changed. Thank you for giving to the Lord. I am so glad you gave.”
This is how I feel about Tami and Jaime Kent and their faithfulness to declare “NO MORE ORPHANS!”. What they are accomplishing for The Kingdom through NO MORE, has greatly changed my whole family’s lives.
I am one of 5 sisters and one Sunday afternoon, 4 years ago, my youngest sister and I decided to go check out what this NO MORE group was all about. We listened as the Kents spoke of their hope for the church, the passion with which they served was (and is still) inspiring. Their vision of hope for “the least of these” and that we would rise up to fill the call of pure and undefiled religion (which is to love orphans and widows in their distress) was something that spoke to my soul … from that day forward … I was all in!
Soon all of my sisters and their families were part of this awesome team. We served for about two and a half years before being specifically led to what would be the hardest and most rewarding journeys of our lives… Adoption.
Now you see it trickling down over all the children that we have brought into our homes through adoption over the last few years. Using one of of the verses we have heard Tami quote from the book of Esther “And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this”, we would encourage each other to the calling given to us.
Look below to see what an incredible miracle has happened in our family…
Join Us on March 4th at 5pm at North Pointe Church to find out how.
